Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, FILTRAN Trade & Translation Services is operated by Colin Smith, BA, DEML, who has 18 years experience in international trade, primarily in the raw material and fibre industries. Colin has experience of new business start-ups and is fully conversant with banking procedures and requirements for cross-border trade, imports and exports.
Colin is also an accomplished linguist and translator,with a first degree in Arabic and French from Edinburgh University, a Postgraduate Diploma in European Marketing & Languages (inc. Translation & Interpretation) and a depth of linguistic knowledge gained from experience of negotiating with producers and buyers in the Middle East and most francophone countries.
